— Education & Foreign-Language Books

OkulSaati.Built in 2019. Still moving books, sets and school orders in 2026.

A busy e-commerce site should not be judged only by launch day. OkulSaati has spent seven years doing the less glamorous, more valuable job: helping families, students and schools find the right foreign-language materials and complete an order with confidence.

— DELIVERY & EVIDENCE

What changed.
What we can substantiate.

Starting point

OkulSaati opened its first physical shop in Buca, İzmir in 2016. By the second half of 2018, the business was preparing to take its broad education, culture and hobby range online so customers across Türkiye could buy without visiting the shop. The e-commerce project needed to support ordinary catalogue browsing and a more controlled school-set journey within the same store.

Delivered scope

  • WooCommerce storefront and catalogue architecture
  • Language, publisher, level and product-type navigation
  • School-specific product-code and password journey
  • Customer accounts, basket and secure checkout
  • Responsive web design and ongoing maintenance

Project duration: The digital store went live in 2019 and has been maintained continuously; the original build schedule is not published.

TECHNICAL OUTCOME

A dated measurement

The live store showed 1,117 catalogue results when reviewed, with six language filters and 18 publisher filters. Its separate school-sales route still explains the complete account, school-issued product-code, password, basket and secure-payment journey. These figures describe the live catalogue on the review date, not lifetime stock or sales.

COMMERCIAL CONTEXT

Client-reported outcome

The Digiwings project and maintenance record reports that thousands of individual books and school sets have been delivered through the platform. No order export, revenue total or conversion-rate comparison has been supplied for publication, so the case study presents this as client-reported operational context rather than a measured growth claim.

First 30 days
No like-for-like launch-period analytics or order export from 2019 is available for publication.
First 90 days
The stronger evidence is long-term continuity: the same e-commerce platform remains live and maintained in 2026. A 90-day sales comparison has not been supplied.

— The story

How it came together.
Start to finish.

01

From a Buca bookshop to a store for all of Türkiye

OkulSaati opened its first physical shop in Buca, İzmir in 2016. The business served readers, students and families across a broad mix of books, stationery, games and cultural products, but the opportunity was larger than a local shopfront. Work on the digital store began in the second half of 2018, and the site went live in 2019.

We built the e-commerce platform on WooCommerce so OkulSaati could combine a familiar customer journey with the practical tools needed to manage products, stock, accounts, orders and payments. Seven years later, that original decision still supports the live business — evidence that the right foundation and continued care can be more valuable than a cycle of unnecessary rebuilds.

02

One store, two very different buying journeys

Most customers can browse the public catalogue, compare products, add books to a basket and check out in the usual way. School-set orders require more control: a family needs to see the materials selected for its school, not a long list of similar-looking course books from other classes or institutions.

The school-sales journey solves that with customer accounts plus a product code and password supplied by the school. Entering those details reveals the correct set before the customer moves into the normal basket and secure-payment flow. The interface reduces uncertainty for families while giving OkulSaati a controlled way to publish school-specific packages.

  • Register or sign in — connect the order with a customer account before revealing protected school sets.
  • Use the school-issued code — search for the correct school or set without exposing every institution's offer.
  • Enter the matching password — add a second check before the relevant package is displayed.
  • Complete the order — move the verified set into the familiar WooCommerce basket and payment journey.
03

A large catalogue that still gives shoppers a way in

Foreign-language education retail creates a catalogue problem as much as a design problem. A shopper may know the language, publisher, school stage or exact title — but rarely all four. The store therefore needs multiple routes to the same product without making the navigation feel like an internal stock system.

On 24 September 2026, the live homepage showed 1,117 catalogue results. Filters covered English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Turkish, alongside 18 publisher choices including Cambridge, Delta Publishing, ELI Publishing, Cideb, Klett, Hachette FLE, Helbling, Macmillan and Richmond. Separate routes for preschool, primary, secondary and high-school materials add educational context to the commercial taxonomy.

Those numbers are a dated catalogue snapshot, not a claim that every listing was in stock. They show the volume and variety the interface was handling during our review — and why product structure, search and filtering are core parts of this project rather than optional shop-page decoration.

04

WooCommerce as long-term retail infrastructure

WooCommerce gave the project a mature commerce foundation without forcing OkulSaati into a closed platform. Product attributes power the specialist filters; accounts support returning customers and protected school sales; and the basket, payment and order layers provide one operational centre for several kinds of purchase.

The choice also left room for the catalogue to evolve. New titles, publishers, prices, school lists and seasonal demand can be handled inside a system the team already understands. The value is not the WooCommerce label itself. It is that the platform fits the daily retail work and has continued to do so since 2019.

05

Maintenance is part of the product

E-commerce does not stand still after launch. Browsers change, payment requirements move, plugins and WordPress evolve, and a catalogue with school-specific offers needs regular operational attention. OkulSaati is maintained as a working retail system, not treated as a finished brochure.

That long relationship is the clearest result of the project. The store remains available to public shoppers and school communities in 2026, still carrying the navigation, account and protected-set ideas established for the original launch. We maintain the platform as requirements change so the client can concentrate on products, schools and fulfilment rather than planning another rebuild for its own sake.

06

What the evidence supports — and what it does not

OkulSaati's own About page records the physical shop's 2016 opening, digital-store work beginning in the second half of 2018 and online service starting in 2019. The current site credits Digiwings, and live review confirms that the catalogue and school-sales routes remain operational.

The Digiwings project record reports that thousands of books and school sets have reached customers through the platform. We do not publish an order count, revenue total or conversion uplift because a dated commerce export has not been supplied for this case study. The defensible story is substantial on its own: a specialist WooCommerce build launched in 2019, maintained over seven years and still supporting a catalogue of more than a thousand results today.
