Charcoal & Earth.A 2020 restaurant website whose strongest result is how well it has lasted.

Charcoal & Earth began as a restaurant launch and grew into a long-term digital partnership. We built the WordPress website, published the menu as searchable content and managed SEO, GEO, local presence, social media, paid campaigns and wider marketing support from day one.

— DELIVERY & EVIDENCE

What changed.
What we can substantiate.

Starting point

Charcoal & Earth was a new independent restaurant in 2020. It needed to launch its public presence, make the menu easy to discover and use, build local awareness and connect bookings, ordering, search, maps and social activity. No pre-launch traffic, ranking or revenue baseline is available for publication.

Delivered scope

  • WordPress strategy, content, design and development
  • HTML menu architecture instead of PDF-only menus
  • SEO, GEO, local content and blog writing
  • Google Business Profile management
  • Organic social and paid social management
  • Ongoing marketing consultancy

Project duration: Website launched in 2020; the wider marketing relationship continued from day one through Huseyin Yuksel's ownership and the 2026 transfer of the restaurant.

TECHNICAL OUTCOME

A dated measurement

The mobile Core Web Vitals assessment passed in the supplied PageSpeed Insights field report. Across the latest 28-day Chrome UX Report period, real users recorded 1.9s LCP, 108ms INP, 0 CLS, 0.6s FCP and 0.3s TTFB. These are dated field measurements, not a claim that every visit is identical.

COMMERCIAL CONTEXT

Documented project outcome

Digiwings' project record describes a successful restaurant built with coordinated website, search, local and social support. Huseyin Yuksel transferred the business in 2026 and it continues to operate under new ownership. The live website and public restaurant profiles confirm continued trading and hundreds of customer reviews, but no revenue, booking or channel-attribution report is available, so the case study does not assign the whole commercial outcome to marketing alone.

Observation window: 2020 to the case-study review on 24 September 2026

First 30 days
No dated first-30-day traffic, booking or revenue comparison is available for publication.
First 90 days
SEO and blog visibility gains were observed during the engagement, but the dated analytics export is not available; the result is therefore reported without an invented uplift figure.

— The story

How it came together.
Start to finish.

01

A restaurant launch, not a one-off website brief

When Huseyin Yuksel opened Charcoal & Earth in Rayleigh in 2020, the job was bigger than putting a menu online. A new independent restaurant needed to become visible locally, give people confidence before their first visit and create simple routes to book, order, collect or find the restaurant.

We built the WordPress website as the centre of that system, then connected it with Google Business Profile, organic search, social media and paid campaigns. That joined-up remit gave the launch one voice and gave everyday marketing activity a dependable place to lead customers.

02

The menu was built as useful content, not filed away as a PDF

Restaurant menus are often uploaded as PDFs because it is quick for the publisher. It is less helpful for the person trying to compare dishes on a phone, and it gives search engines far less useful page content to understand. For Charcoal & Earth, we built the menus directly into the website.

Dish names, descriptions, prices and dietary notes can be read and navigated in the page itself. That supports faster mobile decision-making, gives conventional search and AI systems explicit information to interpret and creates a far stronger foundation for queries about Turkish food, vegetarian choices, gluten-free options and dining in Rayleigh.

03

Search visibility had something substantial to work with

The SEO programme combined the technical foundations of the site with local relevance: consistent restaurant details, location signals, service information, menu content and Google Business Profile management. GEO work later extended the same principle by making the facts people and answer engines need clear, specific and attributable.

We also created the blog and wrote search-led articles around the restaurant's place in Rayleigh and the questions potential customers ask. The live site still surfaces pieces such as What is Rayleigh Famous for? The Hidden Gem of Essex and Discovering the Best Turkish Restaurant in Rayleigh: A Comprehensive Guide. Visibility gains were seen during the engagement; because a dated analytics export is not available for this publication, we report the result without manufacturing a traffic or ranking percentage.

04

One team across social, paid media and local presence

From the first day, the restaurant also received social media management, paid social campaign management, Google Business Profile management and general marketing consultancy. The point was not simply to keep several channels busy. It was to make them reinforce the same customer journey.

Social content created familiarity, advertising extended reach, the Business Profile supported discovery and directions, and the website gave people the detail and actions they needed once they arrived. Managing those pieces together also meant that promotions, opening information and customer questions could be handled with a consistent commercial view.

05

A durable build, measured years after launch

The visual design reflects its 2020 launch and has not been through a recent redesign. That is not the most useful way to judge this project. The stronger test is whether the website still performs the practical work it was built for after years of real restaurant use.

On 24 September 2026, PageSpeed Insights showed that the site passed the mobile Core Web Vitals assessment using real-user Chrome UX Report data. Over the latest 28-day period it recorded a 1.9-second Largest Contentful Paint, 108-millisecond Interaction to Next Paint and zero Cumulative Layout Shift, alongside a 0.6-second First Contentful Paint and 0.3-second Time to First Byte. For a long-running, image-led WordPress restaurant site, that durability is the result worth showing.

06

The business continued beyond its original owner

Charcoal & Earth became a successful local restaurant during Huseyin's ownership. Public restaurant profiles reviewed for this case study show hundreds of customer reviews across Google, Tripadvisor and Facebook, while the live website continues to support dine-in, takeaway, collection and delivery journeys from Eastwood Road in Rayleigh.

Huseyin transferred the restaurant several months before this case-study review. The business has continued under its new owner, using the established name and digital presence. That continuity is not proof that marketing alone created the commercial outcome, but it is a meaningful sign that the brand and operating presence built from 2020 had lasting value. Huseyin's next chapter is covered in our THE KOR case study.
